Christian wedding card matter
Christian wedding card wording, in English
What to write on your wedding card — whole wordings to copy, a verse if you wish, a line for every ceremony, and each word explained.
A Christian wedding card often carries a short Bible verse, requests the honour of your presence at the Holy Matrimony or Nuptial Mass, names the bride and groom with their parents, gives the date, time and church, and invites you to the reception after. Six wordings below are ready to copy.

How a Christian wedding card reads, top to bottom
A verse
Optional. A short line from the Bible at the top, with where it comes from.
The invitation
"Request the honour of your presence" for the church; "the pleasure of your company" for the reception.
The bride and groom
Their names, with whose son and daughter they are — and grandchildren, if you wish.
The service
Holy Matrimony or the Nuptial Mass, with the day, the date and the time.
The church
Its full name, the parish and the town — with a map, if you send it digitally.
The reception
Usually the same evening, with its own place and time.
The other ceremonies
The engagement, the roce and the chuddo — or, for a Kerala family, the manasammatham.
The names at the foot
The families inviting — or the couple themselves.
An opening line, if you wish
Many cards carry a short Bible verse above the invitation; others begin with the invitation itself. Every wording below works either way.

Before you print or send
Honour for the church, pleasure for the reception
"Request the honour of your presence" for the service; "the pleasure of your company" for the reception.
Give a time to be seated
The Mass begins on time: "4:00 pm — please be seated by 3:45 pm".
Name the church in full
Many chapels share a name. Give the parish and the town, and a map.
Confirm the date with the parish first
The banns are read and the church is booked before anything is printed — check the time with the parish priest.
Say what the reception holds
The toast, dinner and dancing tell guests it will be a long, happy evening.
A Christian wedding card that opens
Capela turns these words into an invitation where the sun rises behind a stained-glass window and guests walk the aisle to the rings — the church and the reception, each with its time and place, and each family greeted by name.

Questions families ask
What is written on a Christian wedding card?
Often: an optional Bible verse, a request for the honour of your presence at the Holy Matrimony or Nuptial Mass, the bride and groom with their parents, the date, time and church, and the reception that follows.
Should we write "honour" or "pleasure"?
"The honour of your presence" for the service in church, and "the pleasure of your company" for the reception.
Can we put a Bible verse on the card?
Yes, if you wish — a short one with where it comes from, such as "Love never fails." — 1 Corinthians 13:8. Every wording here works with or without one.
Is this only for Goan Catholic weddings?
No. The wordings suit any church wedding — in Goa, Mangalore, Mumbai, Kerala or abroad. Kerala families can add the manasammatham, the minnu and the manthrakodi.
Can we send the wedding card on WhatsApp?
Yes. With Invitetale it is a link that opens with each family's name as the sun lights a stained-glass window, with the church, the reception, their times and a map. Free to try; ₹1,999 once to send.
